Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, expects that despite a complicated economic situation, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the International Monetary Fund will each an agreement concerning continuation of cooperation between the IMF and Ukraine. V.Lytvyn made the above-mentioned statement, meeting Ceyla Pazarbasioglu, Head of IMF Mission in Ukraine, on Wednesday.

The Parties discussed current economic and political situation in Ukraine. The Head of IMF Mission in Ukraine stated that "the Fund is worried about the adoption of the Law on the Increase of Minimum Welfare Standards, as it will complicate implementation of the State Budget of Ukraine, the rate of budget deficit exceeding 8%, which contradicts prior agreements with the IMF".

Therefore, the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine deems necessary to determine "the ways to support the most underprivileged". He deems necessary to conduct balanced economic policy and analyze implementation of the State budget for the current year, as it is impossible to form an objective budget for the next year otherwise. "The government exerts every effort to balance the situation, however, everyone is concerned with the election campaign and is unwilling to talk about the unpopular matters", - he stated.
